If you want to escape the crowded center of Ksamil and experience a more untouched side of the Albanian Riviera, head north toward Saranda. Hidden between rocky cliffs are two of the region’s most beautiful beaches: Pulëbardha Beach and Shpella e Pëllumbave.
Pulëbardha is a small cove surrounded by steep cliffs and known for its crystal-clear blue water and peaceful atmosphere.
Unlike the sandy beaches in central Ksamil, Pulëbardha has a more natural and rugged feel. The beach is covered with small white pebbles, which help keep the water exceptionally clear.
There’s a seafood restaurant above the beach with panoramic sea views, plus sunbeds and umbrellas available for rent.
Best for:
Just a short distance from Pulëbardha lies Shpella e Pëllumbave, one of the most secluded beaches in the area.
The beach is famous for its bright turquoise water, dramatic rock formations, and the natural cave that gives the beach its name.
Getting there requires walking down a long staircase carved into the cliffside. The views are worth it, but climbing back up during summer can be exhausting.
Many locals park near Mirror Beach (Plazhi i Pasqyrave) and swim or walk around the rocks during low tide to reach the beach more easily.
Best for:
Both beaches are located along the SH8 road between Ksamil and Saranda.
Follow signs for “Pulëbardha” or “Pasqyra.”
The final stretch is a rough, unpaved road, so drive carefully. SUVs are ideal, but smaller cars can usually manage.
A taxi from Ksamil typically costs around €10–15. Arrange a return pickup in advance since taxis are limited near the beaches.
Boat tours from Ksamil often include stops at these hidden beaches. This is the easiest and most scenic option.
These beaches face the open Ionian Sea, so waves can become strong during windy days. On calm days, the water is incredibly smooth and clear.
During peak summer, parking usually costs around 300–500 ALL (€3–5).
The beaches are pebbly, and sea urchins can sometimes be found near the rocks.
If you have enough time, visiting both in one day is completely possible.
Yes. Although most of the beach space is occupied by rental sunbeds, there are usually small free areas where you can place your own towel.
